SWS 2026-27 POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Music Play/Musical Adventures

Classroom Rules

  •  Please remove your shoes before entering the Music Play space.

  •  We have a strict no-snack rule, but water bottles are fine!

  •  Come ready to model musical behaviors for your child.

  •  Once we begin, we ask parents to refrain from talking so that we can focus on music.

  •  No cell phones (aside from the occasional adorable pictures of your child in class)

Absences

  • Please email us at info@songswithsarah.com if you have any questions, or need to report an absence. You can also text our phone at 612-940-2260 to report an absence at any time.

Zoom Option

  • If you cannot make it to class, you have the option to zoom in to any of our classes during the week you miss. Please let us know at least an hour before your class of choice if you plan to switch to Zoom for that day. We cannot guarantee Zoom will be turned on unless you give us enough notice.

Cancellation + Refund Policy

  • We understand that circumstances can change, and we want to support families as best we can. For that reason, we offer refunds within the first two weeks of the session. After this initial period, we are unable to offer refunds, as our planning and staffing are based on committed enrollment. Thank you for your understanding!

Music Lessons

Tuition

  • Our tuition for the 2026-2027 school year is billed year-round on a monthly basis.

 Absences

  • During the school year, your lesson time is reserved just for you. If you cannot make a lesson, there will be no guaranteed make-up option. However, our teachers will use that time to create a video and lesson notes to help you through the next week of practice at home.

Summer Programming

  • We will require summer and provide flexible offerings for you in Summer 2027. We will send out more information soon about our summer programming, and how to sign your family up!

Cancellations/Unenrollments

  • While we highly encourage students to stay in lessons for at least a year in order to know if it is a good fit, we understand that sometimes things come up. In case you need to leave your lessons at any point, we ask for a 30-day notice.

Through music a child gains insights into herself, into others, and into life itself. Perhaps most important, she is better able to develop and sustain her imagination. Without music, life would be bleak. Because a day does not pass without a child’s hearing or participating in some music, it is to a child’s advantage to understand music as thoroughly as she can. As a result, as she becomes older she will learn to appreciate, to listen to, and to partake in music that she herself believes to be good. Because of such cultural awareness, her life will have more meaning for her.
